Pada Malam 24 Disember lalu, Aquila Society telah mengadakan majlis makan malam bertempat di Kunang - Kunang, Gombak.
Pada mulanya saya menerima teks dari Oman Ostolia memaklumkan beliau telah berada di 7 Eleven (Sebelah Kunang - Kunang). Ketika itu baru pukul 7.30 petang. Walaupun tinggal di Shah Alam, Oman telah berjaya mengenepikan sumpahan janji Melayu dan ini jelas menggambarkan komitmen beliau untuk bertemu sahabat handai.
Saya pula menumpang pasangan Ajoi dan Hafizah. Sekitar jam 8, cikgu Wahiah dan suaminya sampai. Saya dan Oman sempat bersembang dengan mereka. Seketika kemudian, Brader Joe & Rabiatul Adawiyah sampai.
Saya berasa sedikit cuak kerana kerusi masih banyak yang kosong. Lantas saya keluar sebentar ke pintu hadapan Kunang - Kunang.
Saya menghantar teks kepada Big Fella Imran, belum sempat mesej itu dihantar Big Fella muncul dengan baju Ruggers Canterbury Ostolia.
Detik berikutnya… seorang demi seorang tiba. Akhirnya 11 orang lelaki dan 5 orang perempuan berjaya datang ke majlis makan malam yang pertama kali diadakan.
Ameng dengan gaya 'head honcho' telah membuka pot baru khas untuk perokok. Saya, Manje, Faizal dan Imran bertukar meja. Saya betul - betul berasa gembira dapat bersama - sama dengan mereka. Ianya umpama lailatul qadar buat insan kerdil seperti saya.
Saya perhatikan wajah - wajah gembira terserlah pada Ameng* (Degree - Student), Acap (Pilot Airbus 350), Naim* (Degree - Student), Imran* (Degree - Student), Faizal* (Master - Student), Manje* (Businessman), Utsman (Penyelidik UPM), Joe (Telekom), Shah Iskandar (Pegawai Tadbir Diplomatik - Treasury), Ajoy* (IT), Hamizah (bakal cikgu), Hafizah (Tutor UPM), Shamsiah (Surirumah Feat. Hubby* & Adam), Abyrad (IT) & Kak Pah (dia ada bagi tau dia kerja tapi saya lupa)… [Perhatikan tanda * bermaksud 'smoker'].
Idea majlis di Kunang - Kunang adalah idea Diya Rashida. Sayang seribu kali sayang beliau tidak hadir. Begitu juga Zami dan Ijam… mereka tidak hadir. Ibrahim… beliau juga tidak hadir. Din dan Shareen? Untuk mengharapkan mereka datang samalah seperti mengimpikan saya menjadi putih melepak…
Kami bersembang panjang.. Keadaan kelihatan tidak terkawal. Ameng buka cerita… Manje buka cerita, Brader Is buka cerita, Big Fella buka cerita… Oman buka cerita… saya di tengah - tengah terpaksa kuatkan suara kerana suasana sangat meriah. Saya berlabon panjang sehingga suara saya serak - serak basah persis Ella.
Saya merasakan mamat - mamat kelas 6A1 ini kelihatan muda tidak seperti 23 tahun. Mungkinkah kerana semuanya pakat - pakat 'shave' misai?
Saya gagal mengenali Naim pada mulanya. Acap pun begitu. Mula - mula saya ingatkan Ashraf Sinclair yang datang.. Kalau Ashraf Sinclair sudah pasti ada Bunga Citra Lestari… Rupa - rupanya saya silap. Insan berwajah Inggeris ini adalah Acap. Saya sempat berlawak dengan meminta Acap mendapatkan tiket kapal terbang untuk saya melancong.

Bahagian Kedua
Sebenarnya perjalanan menuju ke dinner ini bermula di sebuah gerai usang berhampiran LRT Taman Melati. Di situlah Ajoy mencetuskan ideanya untuk mengumpulkan sahabat handai yang 11 tahun tidak bertemu. Waktu itu umat Islam sedang bersiap siaga untuk menyambut bulan puasa 1429.
Di situlah kami membentuk jawatankuasa adhoc awal bersama - sama Fizah dan Diya.
Dari akhir bulan Ogos hingga akhir bulan Disember.. hmm 120 hari. Alhamdulillah dapat jugak buat dinner walaupun aturcaranya berterabur dan tiada acara selingan. (Is mencadangkan kita main kotak beracun bermodalkan kotak rokok kosong).
Saya juga teruja bertemu dengan Ameng.. kerana beliau ini bukan setakat satu kelas masa darjah enam.. malah kami juga sekelas ketika tingkatan 4 dan 5. Saya sempat mempau Marlboro sebatang sebelum beliau mempau balik Benson.

Err..b4 i go any further, do i need to introduce her? Well, any dude who dznt know d SKGS heartthrob should be expelled w/o warning letter. Or should a bloke dznt fall for her , he can be considered 'curvy' / 'not str8' / gay. I thought twas juz the thing of the past. But while reaching the dudes above, the common reply that i got:

Hafidzudin, as i remember him is an artsy dude. Now pursuing medic in Volgograd, Russia, hopefully he will graduate next year (omg MnG D&G its been bloody long years) & bring home a sharapova or two. But confusing medic terms aint no messin with his mind as he's now diggin into fashYon (as he puts it), which will blow the stereotypical rempiters & rempitists away. All the best in making the plain boring doc's coat more interesting. Do visit him at:

First of all, sorry for mengabaikan plan utk buat gathering. Other things keep coming up, so terabai siket bende ni. Sorry..huhu.
So anyway, to compensate for that, aku and Ajoy gi usha Restoran Kunang2 semalam (thanks Diya for suggesting the place). For those who haven't been there, it's a really nice restaurant with a really nice atmosphere, and perfect for gathering because they arrange the tables in such a way that we can have our own privacy..a little at least, if not a lot. They have indoor and outdoor seatings, so if it's not raining, I'll say we should go for outdoor. They have a variety of choices on their menu, from western to local dishes, and the prices are in the range of RM8-35...if I'm not mistaken. Most of the main courses cost below RM20 though, so it's really not that expensive. You guys can take a look at their website http://www.kunangkunang.com.my/restaurant.php but I should warn you that they haven't updated it for quite sometime.
Anyway, aku tanye the cashier about having a gathering there, and she gave me their business card, so I guess I'll just have to call to reserve or something. They're open from 5pm onwards, so meeting up after maghrib around 8-8:30pm should be fine. I saw that they have a surau there, so there shouldn't be any problem for those who need to pray after arriving (sape2 yg duduk jauh, perhaps). And since it's gonna be at night, I'm thinking we should have it on the day that the next day is a holiday (adekah aku telah berjaya memeningkan sume org? hehe), meaning, friday night, saturday night, or on Dec 24, since Dec 25 is a holiday. And since to have it on this weekend is quite a short notice for most of us, Ajoy and I were thinking to have it on Dec 24..or do you guys have other time on mind?
Previously I heard suggestions to prepare a lil souvenirs to give out during the gathering, but I think not having it is fine too, unless someone is willing to do it. As for contact details, we should all stick to yahoogroup and update the database regularly. Owh of course, those who have business cards are welcomed to distributes your business cards on that night.
So, I need feedback on this. Are you guys ok with 8:00/8:30pm on Dec 24? For those who don't, when do you prefer to have it? Any other suggestions?
Please spread the words to those who aren't on yahoogroup or aren't aware of this blog. Or give me their phone numbers so that I can call them (or make other people call them haha)
